Ingredients
- 1 (28-ounce) can whole tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup finely minced onions
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 cloves garlic, pressed
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a medium pan, add in basil, onions, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 4 minutes stirring to prevent sticking. Add garlic and cook for another minute until very aromatic.
Add and crush tomatoes, salt, and sugar into the pan and bring to a simmer. Keep simmering for 30 minutes. Sauce can be used immediately or cooled and stored.
