Steak Fried Rice

Ingredients

    • 2 rested steaks (your cut of choice)
    • Lawry’s Seasoned Salt or garlic salt (or your favorite steak rub)

    • 1–2 sausage links, chopped
    • 2 eggs, scrambled
    • 3 cups cooked white rice (preferably cold)
    • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce (we used Momofuku Goods)
    • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
    • ½ tsp MSG (optional, but recommended)
    • Chopped chives or green onions, for garnish

      1. Fire up your HALO ELITE1B Griddle to its highest setting. Let it fully heat for a great sear.

      1. Season rested steaks generously on all sides and edges with Lawry’s or your favorite rub.

      2. Place steaks on the hot griddle. Press down firmly to ensure even surface contact.

      3. Flip every minute or so until desired doneness is reached. (130°F for medium rare)

      4. Remove from heat and rest for several minutes before slicing.

      1. Add chopped sausage to the griddle. Cook until browned and crispy, then move to the side.

      2. Pour scrambled eggs onto the griddle. Cook through, then move aside with the sausage.

      3. Add sesame oil, then toss in the rice. Break up clumps and let it warm through.

      4. Add soy sauce and stir to combine evenly.

      5. Mix in frozen veggies, cooked eggs, and sausage. Season with MSG if using. Stir to combine.

      1. Plate the fried rice hot, top with sliced steak, and finish with a sprinkle of fresh chives or green onions.
